Now Hiring: Battery Engineer

Lionano is looking for a Battery Engineer to join its R&D team in the Greater Boston area. The role requires a sophisticated understanding of battery chemistry, cell design, cell assembly, and material/battery characterization. Candidates must have 3-5 years of hands-on experience with pouch cell battery research and development, and will utilize this experience to provide battery processing and manufacturing solutions. The role will entail preparing, designing, and monitoring instruments and experiments, interpreting and presenting data, and working closely with Lionano's system and product design teams in determining cells' capacity and mechanical characteristics. Applicants should expect to be closely involved in patent filings and must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Qualifications:
* Ph.D. or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields
* At least 3-5 years' professional experience in pouch cell assembly
* Experience with polymer processing and/or metallurgy is preferred
* At least 5 years' experience in electrochemistry or battery technology
* Ability to work within project teams with dedication and technical excellence
* Willingness to execute on multiple tasks in a fast-paced start-up environment

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include, but not restricted to:
* Design, development, validation, and analysis of lithium-ion cell components, assemblies, and specifications, as well as of the full suite of pouch cell processes
* Plan, develop, and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) for fabrication and testing of lithium-ion cells
* Lead fabrication process development to optimize product cost and quality
* Provide engineering support to project teams to resolve manufacturing process issues
* Maintain compliance with all company protocols related to confidentiality, assignment of inventions, and other policies or duties as identified and assigned

Now Hiring: Human Resources Generalist

Lionano is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join its growing team in the Greater Boston area. Generalists will work under the direction of the Director of Operations, and will primarily be responsible for recruitment, onboarding of new hires, maintaining personnel records, HRIS system management, benefits administration, and special projects (which may including assisting with procurement, daily coordination, and event planning). This role is open to US citizens and permanent residents only.

Qualifications:
*Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field required, BA/BS preferred
*2+ years of Human Resources Experience
*Willingness to execute on multiple tasks in a fast-paced start-up environment is a mustPrior experience supporting employee matters related to USCIS visas is preferred
*Proficiency in business productivity software, including Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems is preferredAble to work independently with minimal supervision

Now Hiring: Lab Technician - Cathode Development

Lionano is looking for Lab Technicians to join its R&D team in the Greater Boston area. Technicians will work under the direction of the cathode group lead, and will primarily be responsible for preparing powder products through wet chemistry and solid-state calcination processes. Technicians will be required to operate glass reaction vessels, run filtration/mixing/calcination processes, analyze the physicochemical properties of powder products, and assemble and test coin cells.

Qualifications:
*High school diploma required, associates degree preferred
*Chemistry lab benchwork experience is required
*Experience with electrochemical characterization methods is strongly preferred
*Experience working with glove boxes and in a dry room is preferred
*Must be a fast learner with passion and dedication to the work at hand
*Willingness to execute on multiple tasks in a fast-paced start-up environment

Now Hiring: Research Associate

Lionano is looking for Research Associates to join its growing R&D team. The position will be permanently located in the Greater Boston area, with initial training and assignments in Ithaca, NY. The role will entail close work with several experienced PhD/postdoc-level scientists in developing novel li-ion battery electrolyte materials for a wide variety of end user applications. Associates will execute research projects at the bench-scale and analyze experimental data, and will be encouraged to contribute strategic insights to other research projects that are running simultaneously. Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to confront technical challenges head-on are a must.

Qualifications:
*B.S. or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields
*Demonstrated experience in polymer processing and membrane fabrication technology
*Experience with ionically conductive materials and electrochemical characterization methods is strongly preferred

The role requires a sophisticated understanding of cathode chemistry and material/battery characterization. Research Scientists will conduct benchmark studies of candidate cathode materials; develop novel material compositions, structures, and synthetic methods; and work with Lionano's manufacturing team to translate lab-scale material chemistry to commercial-scale procuts. Applicants should expect to be closely involved in patent filings and must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Qualifications:
*Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science or related fields
*At least 5 years' experience in NCA/811 cathode materials development
*Demonstrated experience in electrochemistry and solid-state physics is strongly preferred
